MZ Baghira
Hi,
Does anyone have an experience of the MZ Baghira, is it any good - reliable/well build/etc? I'm looking for a bike to cope with the potholes of Edinburgh, as well as trips through eastern europe and eventually down to Morocco. Cheers Doug |
Hi Doug,
I own the Baghira. It has now 20.000km without problems. The engine is the 660cc Yamaha XTZ-engine, with 50hp (larger airbox and exhaust). I think, this engine is good for more than 50.000km. In case of a problem, you can go to any Yamaha dealer. The rest is also very solid and reliable. Suspension: Marzocchi fork (use fork protectors) and WP rear shock with a lot of reserves. You only have to buy accessories like a motor protector from dealers, since MZ has not much for that bike. Experience with this bike in Africa has Michael Kutschke, you can find his e-mail in www.motorradonline.de, Forum, MZ/MuZ and you can get larger reservoirs, motor protectors etc. at www.tunebike.de. For me, the Baghira is the real successor for the XT500.... If you have additional questions, send me a mail. Edi |
