New - BMW F450GS
Even BMW is now jumping into the 450 cc segment with a two-cylndred model - although it wont be released for sale until next year.
https://www.advpulse.com/adv-news/bm...-concept-bike/ It certainly looks cool, it has as mentioned a twin cylindred engine that pumps out 48 HP and likes to rev. Other specs are not clear ftm - but it will certainly fill a gap between the 310 and 800/900 models. And it looks great too imo. |
It's just a concept. No immediate plans to build it.
Although I wouldn't be surprised. :thumbup1: |
"lightweight but high-strength cast aluminum wheels" would open up the possibility of tubeless tyres.
But can it take a decent amount of touring luggage? |

It looks like it has a sturdy tublier steel subframe. So I can't see why not. With the plethora of great quality, lightweight and durable soft luggage solutions out there now (Kriega, Mosko etc), there is no real need for heavy boxes and frames anymore. I still cringe and shudder when I think of how I spent over £1000 on Metal Mules for an XT600 in 2006. Which totally ruined the bike. And the ride. I swapped them out for $200 softbags which did the job much better and tranformed my bike into a capable machine again. |
Looks like it could be a quality bike.
If I were BMW I wouldn’t try to compete with CF Moto, Royal Enfield etc on price - they’ve already got the 310 doing that. |
