New Super Tenere?
 

Anybody own one? We just found out we can get them in the States, and before I buy, I'd like to hear from a distance rider. I've read the Waspworks thread on ADV?c?

Have a search for 'OldGitRay', he has one.

where did you see we can buy them in the US:confused1:

on the Yam website. Ask any dealer. BUT....$500 deposit, and they don't ship until May

I did that. It turned up nothing?

Yamaha USA will bring over 2012 Super Tenere - Dirt Rider Magazine

German motorcycle magazine "Das Motorrad", issue 14 and 15, completed a two part dual-sport/adventure travel bike comparison between:

BMW
DUCATI
HONDA
KTM
MOTO-GUZZI
TRIUMPH
YAMAHA

The test-ride was done in Scandinavia all the way up to the North cape.
Test riders came from different moto-magazines around Europe. Although BMW came out first, the Super Tenere came in as a close second, with Ducati Multi Strada 1200S on third place.

They looked at the categories:
-Engine
-Frame/suspension
-Daily use
-Safety
-Operating cost

Each category has 4-12 sub-categories.

I really liked what I read about the Super Tenere. It's about time BMW gets some serious competition in that "unstoppable" department...:thumbup1:
