Thoughts on XJ600 Diversion

What are peoples thoughts on using a Diversion as a tourer? I'm only in Europe for a few more months and want something to ride around on and explore a little bit. Will be selling the bike in the summer before I go back home, hoping to try and sell it here on HUBB but I haven't seen any for sale yet. Is there any particular reason this bike is avoided?

Right now I'm looking at this one in particular mainly because it's somewhat close to where I'm living right now:

≥ Fijne toermotor te koop - Motoren | Yamaha - Marktplaats.nl

Cheers,

Mihir

Solid and reliable if a little uninspiring.

Will do the job for sure. And they're cheap !!

Would you say it's an easy bike to sell on Ted? Because I don't want to be stuck with a bike no one wants to buy and then have to dump it here before I go back to Aus

I reckon. If you're prepared to take a bit of a loss to sell it cheap.

Try and buy as cheap as you can. That's the trick.

I'm guessing a bike shop would buy it for 800-1000. Or at least give you the details of the companies they use to buy older trade bikes that aren't worth putting in their showrooms.

I had one a few years back. Bought it off ebay used it for just over a year and stuck it back on ebay. Managed to get my money back.

Like Ted says, solid and reliable - not the most exciting bike in the world but did exactly what I needed, was comfy and the insurance was peanuts.

Thanks guys!! Looks like I might go ahead with this one I've found once I've vetted it a bit. Looking forward to getting back on the road and exploring Europe
