Triumph Scrambler 1200
 

Who has experience with the Triumph Scrambler 1200 XC or XE for overlanding. Any weak points? Is it reliable?

I think it's a great bike for travelling long distance and it looks cool! :-)
I've travelled from the UK and around Morocco.
Recently returned from doing the Adventure Country Tracks Italy (TET for big ADV bikes). Never have a problem with the bike but the stock hand guards are crap. Replace with Barkbusters.
Luggage- I've not had a problem with this. I use soft luggage. A number of guys use the reckless 80 mosko moto. I use Kriega on both sides of the bike.
The elephant in the room... high exhaust and heat.
Yes it can be a problem when stuck in traffic- but just move your right leg out a bit and it's bearable.
I ride with adventure boots which protects me from the heat. Have used a shin guard in the past- very effective.
