Go for it!

Truly any bike will do and the guzzi would be fun. Only downside would be the amount of luggage you can carry on the back as there is no triangulation to the rear seat frame and that exhaust is in a bitch of a spot for heat near any pannier/bag.

But if you pack light no problemo!

I got out while the going was affordable. Too many niggles and too much rot so it was either sell or keep it as a way to convert money into frustration. Nothing that would stop it running, but stuff that would cause hassle in the UK.

Thanks! I will definitely have some sort of write up about the trip and how the bike performs. Good to hear that it was nothing to keep me stranded, makes me feel better. Any rot/rust will only make it look more era correct :mchappy:

Grinning from ear to ear every time I get on the bike, not sure what it is but it's just so much fun and looks so damn cool. 1 pair of undies for six months should be ok right?:clap:

Will definitely be going light which I think would help out with the handling and fuel efficiency. Very excited to get started. will keep you guys posted.

not in Bolivia or Peru'. Anything that crops up will hopefully show itself BEFORE you cross the border into Mexico. Some good Guzzi guys in the San Diego area.

I'm betting the Guzzi will do OK if owner keeps up on maintenance and chases
gremlins out early.

I agree completely. been riding the piss out of it in all sorts of weather and conditions. It's handling like a champ in altitude two up and in 110 deg desert heat. 1600 miles in a month and nothing's come up yet. :clap::mchappy:
