Morocco advice
We are 2 Canadian women who are planning to travel Morocco by bicycle (mountain bike) this spring. We are looking for any advice from women who have traveled here. I know we face a few more difficulties since our bikes don't have motors but whatever information you can share regarding your experiences and security would be greatly appreciated. We have Chris Scott's Morocco Overland book and are hoping to ride a few of his off piste routes as well as the main roads.

Hi
I've been there in a solo ride (see Paula Kota: 01 - Marrocos - Na Terra do Sol Poente (1ยช parte) Perfectly safe country to travel by woman. Be aware of: Boring salesmans Very hot (and dangerous) in the desert in case you do off road - after May temperatures are very higth Have a nice holidays |
I've been to Morocco 3 times. Spent 2 months there the last time, cycling too.
Really loved it! Amazing country, great people. I had no problems with safety or security - if you're sensible and take the usual travel precautions then there's no reason why you'd have any trouble. Of course, you can always get unlucky, but Morocco is no worse than other places. Hope you have a great ride. If you've any other specific questions, happy to help if I can. My blog posts from Morocco are here if you're interested in getting a taster: Journal | Helen's Take On... (or there's - blatant plug - my book Desert Snow ;) ) |
