2004 Yamaha TT600RE req spares in USA
Hi all
Currently 6 months into a round the world tour and I am looking at getting new chain and sprockets in the USA. I know they never imported this bike to the USA but I am really struggling despite many hours spent searching online. I am currently in California and happy to travel to get the work done or if online store I am happy to wait for the postman to come. Thanks Geordie aka Will |
How, Will
Well done so far. I'm not from USA or a TTRE owner, but I have just looked in an online catalogue to find commonality of the sprockets. This may not help you find a pre-packaged chain-and-sprockets set but may help you find the individual components - and a single retailer may give a discount for the whole package. I also presume that you have a standard setup for the model, as you've not stated anything to the contrary. You have the option, of course, to go up or down a tooth on the front sprocket or more on the rear, if you wanted to change the overall gearing-ratio (although you may require a slightly different length of chain, if you add or subtract too many). - The standard 2004 TT600RE's chain is a 520 type with 106 links, which is shared by a multitude of other bikes and you should have no problems getting one of those. - The standard 2004 TT600RE's 15-tooth front sprocket is also used by the 1999-2003 XT600E 4PT/4SL. - The standard 2004 TT600RE's 47-tooth rear sprocket is also used by the 1997-2001 XV125 Virago 5AJ (and also 2000-2004 XVS125 Drag Star models with 520 chain-conversion). I hope that this info' helps you to source the parts and sort the bike out. Best of luck. :thumbup1: |
Thanks Bigfoot2
That info will come in very handy, have found a Yamaha dealer close by, so I will check that out. Cheers Geordie aka Will |
