2KF gearbox

Maybe I should put my question in a more understandable way.

I assembled my 2KF engine after replacement of the 5th gear wheels (after 50.000km of operation).

I now have an axial play of about 0.6 mm on the outgoing axis. This is the one with the sprocket. Could someone verify on his 2KF XT 600 how much axial play there is on this axis. This can simply be measured by moving the spocket is the axial position as much as possible back and forth.

I badly need an answer to decide if I have to dismantle the motor agian. I wouldn't like to destroy my gearbox.

Thanks

Guy

No worries

My 3AJ (115.000 kms), 55W (130.000 kms) and TTR6 (13.000 kms) all have axial play on the outgoing shaft. If you only have 0,6 mm, that's beautiful.

Thanks for the reassuring info Auke.
I will continue to assemble the motor.

Guy

Related to this post does any one have any information on the correct axial play on the main gearbox shaft (attached to the clutch basket) I am currently rebuilding a 55W with all new gearbox parts and have about 0.66mm when the gearbox is in placed between the two main engine casings (before installing the clutch basket ect) ?c?
