3AJ front brake replacement
Hi all,
does anyone know if any other Yamaha model front brake calipers will fit a 3AJ? I've searched high and low and I cant find any info. Would like to replace the original front caliper with a 4 pot unit or anything that is better than what is there. I have steel braided lines, new disk, new pads and its all bled right. Its still shite, so a 4 pot is the next step. Thanks, Mike |
I've got MX bike masters on most of mine plus the twin piston caliper, but they came with usd forks. Try one of these masters , 09 10 11 12 13 Yamaha YZF R1 R1 Front Brake Master Cylinder | eBay , They're supposed to have more oomph . May need the lines as well.

There is nothing for the 3AJ forks, remembering those forks are unique to that bike (lugs to hold the hugger).
Geoff put XTZ750 (super tenere) front end on his 3AJ. http://i809.photobucket.com/albums/z...nere2020-2.jpg Mezo. |
Thanks guys. Mezo, I saw Geoff's rebuild thread on the Tenere forum, if I can get a front end for not to much I'd do that.
At least I now know the forks are particular to the bike. Cheers. |
Hi, did the XTZ 750 fork clamps/stem fit straight into the XT600 frame. I tried fitting a XTZ660 front end to my XT600 3AJ (for larger diameter forks and better brakes) but lost too much stearing lock, handle bars hit tank ect. It would be interesting to know if the 750 went in ok.
