3AJ Front brakes upgrade
 

OK, I'm about to start on a journey of discovery and enlarge / modify my front brakes. I guess like so many other owners. Before I do, has anyone a conversion or modification using standard bike fitments. Eg, other callipers, disc's and hubs.

I'll keep you posted on what I find.....

Applies to pretty much all bikes.

I'm not familiar with XT's but it's worth comparing the XT disc mounting pattern to that of the FZR600/750/1000/TDM250 as they all used the same pattern & the various sIzed discs were interchangeable, obviously with a suitable caliper carrier.

Thanks for the feed back, I haven't got far with this.... I've only modified cars in the past and the Tenéré is only my second bike.

As I'm not building it to race, I'm planning a twin piston calliper, new disc (standard size), braided hoses front and rear and standard pads. The trouble of fitting a larger disc for the very little extra performance isn't worth the effort, hence why I want to focus on the calliper. I don't have a disc protector so I can't increase the air flow.
