3AJ Inlet manifolds
Hi, My 89 3AJ has been a pain to start and run cold. Eventually found that inlet manifolds were allowing lots of air through. Have bought a new set but am a mechanical "numpty". Have checked Clymer and the German repair manual but no details on fitting i.e. torque settings, "instant gasket" etc. Any help welcome!

Tenere - Problems???
Hi,
I have aTenere too, is your Choke okay? Cable gets stuck sometimes or even the choke part of your carburator, (don´t know the name in English, sorry). Happened to my bike once. Or didn´t you use it for a long time? Then take your carburator apart, clean it. There is a special "bath" , I don´t know how to call it, but the repair shop knows, after this it is like new! Good luck - El Aleman - Jens |
Yep
Not very difficult except for squeezing in and out the carbs.
The manifolds themselves should be fitted with a bit of siliconebased instant gasket. Torquesetting: the normal 'handfelt' torque for this size of Allen screws. Auke |
thanks, auke,
just needed reasuurance before I do it! john |
