May have found the problem, there is a fault in the source coils, not reading any resistance on ohms but ac voltage when turned over [which threw me] ??. Hopefully it will solve the problem, may be of help to someone in the future with similar ignition fault. Will update when I get the stator unit back from rewind.

Glad you found that, John... Are you getting the complete stator rewound or just the source coils?

Just got my stator back and checked it out. The source coils now show resistance but out of the recommended range. Should be 200ohms and they now read 112ohms. As it is now the weekend I am unable to check with the people who did the rewind, will it make a difference.????

Perhaps they used a bit larger wire and could not get as many turns as before. I suspect it will work. Won't hurt to try it. I'd ask them as well even if it does work.

Rewound stators can differ from original specs (to a point), as steve said, just a couple thousands of wire dia make a big difference. Hopefully they went a gage bigger dia rather then smaller if they didn't use the same. Getting the exact same number of loops and rows as original also impacts output numbers. Easier to do wrong than right.

Thanks guys, I know it must be difficult to get it as original spec but it seems to me to be way out, I told them it should be approx 200ohms. I will contact them on Monday for their comments. Don't want to assemble it all if there could be a problem.
