'84 XT600 Compression Test

Hey folks!
My bike has a compression release on the kickstart, obviously, and I am wondering how this would effect a compression test. I'd like to test it, but it seems to me that the compression release would skew my reading quite a bit. My Clymer manual doesn't mention it and list the compression spec somewhere around 150 PSI. Is that right, or should I expect a lower compression reading given the compression release?

If you didnt have compression your bike cant move forward, just warm up engine and do the compression test. Remember to turn off your fuel and empty carb, keep throttle on full and turn it.

You need to disable the auto compression to get a correct reading, otherwise the pressure will bleed through the open valve.

Ok, thinking it was compr before exhaust valve open, but you find out just do the test before release cable and you have both measurements.

That makes sense. Thanks for the advice. I'll update y'all when I run the test.
