Alternator for XT Tenere 34L
 

Howdy all, I have a 83 xt600 tenere 34L
and I accidentally connected the battery polarity in reverse. I didn't start the bike though. I think I may have fried the regulator unit. Is this likely, if so how can I test whether the regulator is fried or not, without starting the bike.
