Hi all

Further to my message regarding my cracked 34L barrell, someone has contacted me with a barrell. It has a serial number on it which is 34K00 Y-1, and the number 9031 in a circle. Can anyone please tell me if this is compatible with my bike, which is a 1984 or 85 xt600z, Italian import, with the frame prefix 55W.
I would appreciate any help.

The part number of the cilinder for the 55W is 34L-11631-00-Y0.
If the offered cilinder is marked 34L I think that it is a cilinder from an older type that will not fit to your engine. Yamaha 'reuses' parts from older models and only makes mods if necessary.

I've just found out my barrel is in fact a 34K, not 34L. Does anyone know about the modification to stud length on these early barrels. Did the holes need lengthening or re-threading? Or, is there sufficient depth there already?
