bashplate

i am calling some breakers for a slightly used bashplate over the weekend.
my question is this: will a bashplate from an older XT or TT say 88 and up fit a 02 XTe with few or any modifications ?
grateful for any input http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ubb/smile.gif

I would say yes. I once bought a new XT600K 3TB in 1991 which originally had a pipe frame under the engine but had a bashplate of a TT fitted.

Thanks Fred thats exsactly what i wanted to hear! i Guess the bashplate replaces the original tube frame and bolts on without the rubber bushings!

Hi

As a bit of advice, I would tap out the original frame captive nuts a couple of sizes - by default it uses pretty weedy 10mm (at the head) bolts, and I snapped them every week until sorting it. I run a setup with 13mm (at the head) stainless steel bolts countersunk into the bashplate.

If a used one isn't available, then I can recommend the CRD one - I do trials & fairly extreme trail riding, have given mine a really hard time and it's stood up to the abuse perfectly.

Cheers
Bish
