Bike against Yamaha fame !
Hi,
My XT 600 2003 (what you call AJxx?) starts very difficultly. It is just checked, carbs cleaned, valves adjusted, battery charged, spark plugs changed... After waiting 2-3 days without start, it doesn't start easily (and gas exist in the tank too ;) ) I feel crazy. I was thinking about upgrading XT to Tenere. After this happens, begun to afraid from Yamaha bikes. Which bikes starts very well normally? What is your experiences? :taz: |
Youre bike should start just fine, its not a bike specifik problem, its just yours that starts bad :( Sorry to be the messenger.

Some times mine is a little hesitant when it's been left a few days. Have you tried using the choke?

The choke is there to be used all the times! instead when the engine is warm...
Also, I believe you have cracked fuel pipe: the one from the fuel tank to the carb. Either it's cracked and letting air getting in OR the hose clamps aren't tight enough and are letting air inside. This WILL make just that starting problem! I had it and some of you out there also have or had it before! Vando beer |
Big problem was the carb rubbers cracked, did not see it till I had removed the carb and had a closer look,it also made my bike backfire too.....the yamaha ones are very expensive but I found cheaper ones on e bay....hope this helps....:thumbup1:
