carb adjustment needed?
i was told by a guy a couple of weeks ago that my engine probably was runing a bit warm, this because he could see that the engine block was dry he told me...?
a couple of days ago i attended a driving course and we were doing brake exercises etc, we ended up standing a lot in line, waiting for our turn to drive. at a point my engine was wery warm and i took it for a drive so it could cool down in the wind. so, do i have to adjust my carbs? does the carbs deliver to mutch gas? i have never done any carb adjustment before, is there a "how to adjust carbs" site somwhere? the bike is a 1991 xt600k |
Based on that, NO!
Its an aircooled engine, it transfers a lot of heat. Its perfectly normal. |
yeah it's normal for a air-cooled bike..
Just make sure your oil level is good and you use some good oil! And you did good going for a little ride to cool her a bit off.. Just one thing, a hot engine condition is the opposite to what most people think... actually a little more fuel actually cools the engine down a bit and too little fuel is will causes a high temp engine... |
