Carb Breather T Piece Mod

I have the back end of the XT off for a bit of an overhaul (regreasing, rust proofing, repainting, etc) in advance of a trip to Portugal this summer.

The bike stalls in deep water, and I want to do the carb breather T piece mod, whilst I have easy access to the carbs.

Which breathers do I need to T off?

Thanks

Theres a breather from the right carb (the vacuum carb) going backwards and ends in a little filter. Make sure the filter sits higher than the airbox.

I've never had problems like that on my xt.

Perhaps you should also clean (use wd40 or special electric cleaner and a toothbrush) and grease (dielectric grease) all the connecters and plugs around the entire bike.

Thanks Jens

Below are the links to the modification I am talking about. G600 asks the same question as me "Which breathers" but I don't think he gets an answer

hoses

Referring to your third pic where we have the pleasure of looking back to front into your carbs:
T-mod the hose that is connected @ 8 o'clock onto the LH carb, and t-mod the hose that is connected @ 9 o'clock to the RH carb.
For the other hoses it's no use to T-mod them; so do not T-mod the overflow hose connected to the float bowl bottom nor the large atmospheric pressure hose connected to the RH carb top.
