CDI connector wanted - flat 3-pin

Hi,

Can anybody help me? I have a "new" performance CDI ignition box to fit, and one of the connectors is missing. There are 3 wires (the ones that have the safety circuits - sidestand in & out and neutral light) that should go into a Flat 3-Pin connector.

Does anybody know where I can get one of these connectors? Does anybody have a duff CDI that they could cut it off and send to me, perhaps?

I want to keep my existing CDI intact, if I can.

Thank you in anticipation of your help.
Geoff

Geoff,

I have a huge amount of connector blocks(male & female) that plug straight in to japanese wiring looms, along with plenty of the matching crimp-on connectors. They are all Spade type connectors, of the larger variety i.e. the interlocking part is 5mm wide & 8mm long (approx, don't have one in front of me atm).

You're welcome to have the parts you need FOC or a complete new 3-pin set-up inc. all req'd parts.

Give me a call at home on 01865-463626, will post or you can collect?

Steve

For future reference you could also try:

I haven't used them for bikes but had Landy stuff which is all good....

Tony.

Steve,

Thank you for your help. The connectors arrived today.
A job for the weekend!
I hope I can help you one day, and return the favour.

Tony,

That's a useful site, for many applications. I will save it for future reference.

Thanks, Geoff

Hi Steve,

Thanks for your query. I am still trying to get it sorted.

The CDI I bought was quoted as "a direct plug in replacement for the original". I noticed early that the safety circuit was missing from it, and the company did a little research and developed the safety circuit before delivery.

When it arrived, the 3 safety circuit wires were bare, hence my post.

What I found last weekend was the larger 3 wire connector was different (I should have checked earlier). It may be a date related thing - on my '88 wiring loom the large 3 wire connector has round pins, and the small 3 wire connector has blades (2.5mm). However the modern connectors I have seen have pins in the small and blades in the large - the designs are the other way round.

I think I am going to cut all the old pins/connectors off of the 2 CDIs I have and the wiring loom, and fit new plugs.

Geoff
