Cheap(er) foot pegs on eBay
Hi,
I was after some foot pegs for my XT600E and read that there were some cheap ones available from the States but couldn't find anyone selling them. Some turned up on eBay - Yamaha PW50 PW80 PW 50 80 TW200 TW 200 FOOT PEGS | eBay Apparently they're a direct fit. Mine turned up today, only took a week and will have a go fitting them at the weekend. Just thought I'd post in case anyone was looking for some. |
Theres a couple of posts already, but its allways nice to inform people of theese. I have thoose aswell, needed to drill one hole in one of the pegs for the spring to fit, otherwise bolt on.
Love'em, its on here somewhere: http://peecee.dk/uploads/122011/Peg.JPG |
I have them, they fitted no problem on my 2002 XT600E and they've been great.

Will these pegs fit in place of the pillion pegs? Mine came without them, and if I register it without pillion pegs it will only be licensed as a single seat vehicle. Not a big loss, but annoying.
|
They wont fit in place of the pillion pegs, but there are decent copies of the pillion pegs around for less, either on Ebay or at your nearest dirt bike store.

You sure, BB?
We fitted these cheap big pegs to our bikes - 1VJ and 3AJ. Same ones also fitted straight onto a mates H***a XL600LM with no mods. Re rear pegs, the 3AJ pilot was worried whether the cheap new pegs would survive More-rocky -o (copyright C. Scott!) so fitted his original front pegs in place of the tubular pillion pegs. They bolted straight onto the alloy carriers (though needed to be held up with cable ties), so if your pillion peg carriers are similar to the 3AJ type, they'll probably go on fine. |
You are right - my ex army XT600 would have had tubular carriers with bolt on round passenger pegs, if the army hadnt removed them, and I just assumed that the rest of the bikes were the same.
But if the bikes with alloy mount plates have cast on lugs then with a little bit work with a grinder/ dremel most any pivoting angled pegs can be made to fit - I have Yam YZ wide pegs on both my BMW R80G/S and the XTE, out of a bubble pack on the wall at my dirt bike shop, cheaper than Ebay and around 10% the price of any pegs marketed specifically for Beemers. |
Finally got round to fitting them today. The left hand side went on no problem, the right hand side I needed to cut the spring down a tad as the hole in the foot peg for it to go through was in the wrong place.

Ya could've just bent the spring a bit inwards..
I fitted new springs onto mine tho.. Vando ;) |
I drilled a new hole.
