considering buying a 83 xt 600
hi guys im after some advice please. im looking at a bike on ebay that is fairly close to me. ive seen the bike and it appears fairly clean but is missing a rev counter and the bracket that holds it is snapped. the bike starts well and runs ok and the brakes and suspension appears fine.
on the test ride i tried to clutchless upshift like i do on my main bike but was very jerky but appeared better on the clutch. on changing gear the revs seemed to drop off and on rolling of the throttle the revs and speeds appears to drop off as well is that normal for a big single. this is the ad of the bike For sale my Yamaha XT 600, It has had a full strip down refurbish, the frame has been shot blasted and powder coated, when I rebuilt it, it has had new chain and sprockets clutch all cables front disc and pads handle bars seat cover engine serviced and tank resprayed with new yamaha decals. The bike is good fun and reliable, used daily and well looked after. 22000 miles and 12 months tax. Hes after 1200 but i think he would accept £900. is that price about right or still a little high. cheers |
The price sounds good based on the mileage and the amount of recent work. The fact that a lot of work has been done might mean that it was abused previously - I have a 'mint' FZR thats all powder coated etc but was previously a badly seized and rusted barn find....
