Hi Keny,
My recomendation is to stop and check the manual! I am going from a foggy memory but on my 43F there are only two required. There are in fact a couple of spots where it looks like you could put more dowels in. In my haste to assemble I put a couple of extras in that resulted in the crankcase to barrel machined surface to be misaligned/off by just a bit. Also prevented an engine mounting bolt from fitting through the cases as the incorrectly placed dowel blocked it. Luckily I caught my bonehead mistake before I assembled the engine further so only had to resplit the crankcase to correct the problem. I hope this message get's to you before it's too late! Good Luck, Pawlie |
Cheers Pawlie,I,m the new bonehead in town:oops2: I re assembled the cases and checked the manual and I do indeed have too many fitted,I was unsure so never gooped (gasket sealant)the cases -I ll split them tomorrow and remove the one or two extra and goop them up and carry on....cheers for the reply- did,nt think I was going to get any help bier

On my left engine casing there is one space that looks like a dowel is needed when in fact only an O-ring gasket is used...
Check the parts microfiche for the exact ones for your engine! Vando beer |
Glad I could help out Keny. Also glad you didn't bolt the whole thing together before you caught the error!
I'm also glad you are the new bonehead title holder! The pressure is off.....temporarily:D All the best, Pawlie |
