Damper tool
Can't find a damper tool for my 92 XT. I've tried compressing the spring & several other methods I've read about. I'm either going to need to source a tool or make one. Does anybody have one I could see a pic of? From the manual I assume it's 27mm in size, correct?

Use an airgun/tool to rattle the bolt free.

OK I've got my forks apart. The sheet with the springs says I case of two springs, 1 long & 1 short replace both with the 1 progressive spring I've got. Mine has one long spring & the little spring on the damper rod. They don't mean the small spring on the the damper bar do they? That goes back it?
Thanks Mr B |
Are you installing aftermarked springs? In that case they probably meen you have to remove the (large) spring, and the spaccer on top op it (metal tube).
Atleast I had to when I changed to wilbers progressive springs. |
