There is a company in Tchech Republic that does the CDI for the TTR - see recent post somewhere.

Hi,I have finally got it running,I had the Cdi + the pulse coil and the jenny tested which were all OK .I replaced the jenny anyway as it was not putting out quite what it should, anyway it turns out to be the cutout switch which makes contact in the off position and disconnects when switched on (obviously not the original item but a good security measure). It would have been nice to have mentioned this when I bought the bike especially when I emailed the guy asking if the bike had any trick to starting it as I was having no luck.
But all has worked out now, just got to got it registered and make the most of this great summer:(,thanks for everyones help. Regards Brian.

TTR 600 RE 05 800 miles on her.

Hi having trouble with mis fires over running, and backfires.
I have checked coil, removed small filter in carb ,cleaned all jets , checked inlet manifold rubbers, clean petrol, all slides are moving good (checked with mini camera through the air box, clean new filter, new iridium plug and cap. Checked lead from cap to coil taped up with self amalgamating tape. Still the same.
Any ideas, the only thing i can think of is the CDI unit, or TCI unit on this model.
Transistor Controlled Ignition.
Does anyone know how to test this sealed unit, or where to get a replacement part that isn't priced through the roof.
Thanks Chris :helpsmilie:
