Desperate for Oil Filter Cover for Yamaha XTZ660 3YF 1991 2WK-13447-00 (London).
 

Hello there,
I hope somebody can help me, I am really desperate for a part.
I was doing an oil change and I craked the oil filter cover. I have a ferry booked for Friday and I don't seem to be able to find the part here in London.
Anybody knows where I can find it (or have a spare one to sell...). I tried the usual dealers but they are not able to source the part by Friday.
I am in London and can pick it up.

It's the Oil Filter Cover for Yamaha XTZ660 3YF 1991 (part number 2WK-13447-00 or 2WK1344700).

Surely someone can loan you one and wait for a replacement. I'd do it if I were in London..... One of the reasons for this forum, helping each other. Come on someone out there can do without for a bit....:clap::clap:

I think the cover is the same on some of there atvs along with several other of their bike models( 1997-2004ish). Maybe one of the dealers will have the part only under a different part # , or at least close enough to work. Suzuki's also has one like that, I have an extra for one and it looks like it will fit(can't confirm without taking mine off though. Might be an option. Go to a dealer with your old one and look on several used bikes, if they have some. You never know.
Otherwise will it work if you cleaned the cracked one up good and J-B weld it, put it on the bike for setting up and don't take off till a new one is sourced. sand the paint off and put some JB in the crack and put a 2-4mm layer over the entire cover, just make sure it can be removed later. You can paint it when dry so not such an eyesore. Can't say it will work , but if you HAVE to......

I just looked on the parts fiche at AJ Sutton and noted that the oil filter cover is the same for all years from 1991 to 2010, as quoted by that site and retails for £14. Refer to the right hand side of page from the below link:

I am not in anyway affiliated with these guys, but have used them before for parts for my XTR and they are normally quick in delivery and good over the phone. However, receiving the items tomorrow ready for Friday may be a stretch. It would be worth calling them and seeing what they can and also to confirming that the later cover fits the 1991 model.

Yeah, JB weld the old (how did it die??)

The cover should be widely used on a lof of bikes, so it shouldnt be a big problem to source a new one.

thank you to all of you who replied and sorry to post so late to update... it's sorted....
Yesterday I was going to get it weld when somebody suggested to give Paul Reeks a call (ex Yamaha Service Centre Fulham if I understood correctly).
As I already have contacted so many dealers with no luck (they couldn't get the part within the timeframe, apparently Yamaha is slow in delivering) I didn't have much faith... well... it turned out that he did have it in the shop!!! So I jumped on the tube and got the part.
On the phone I told him "Please hold on to it! I'm jumping on the train... I will be there within two hours". He replied "Yeah, like somebody is gonna walk in and buy that thing..." :lol2: It was probably sitting on the shelf sice the nineties...

I can finally go on holiday. Thank you again, the HUBB has been so helpful (as it always has in the past).
