Does the 2011 xt660z tenere parts share with the new 2015 tenere
Just sourcing spare parts for the new tenere and got a quote of around £400 for the parts I wanted from the dealer....
Wemoto can do it for HALF!!! This price and they always supplied good parts for my old xt! The reason they don't list the parts for the new 2015 tenere is because yamaha haven't released the 'parts list'. The latest parts list on their site that has all of the parts I want is the 2011 tenere. Would these parts be the same on the new bike. Here's the List of parts I want. Chain and sprockets Wheel bearings front and back Sprocket carrier bearing Clutch cable Headlight bulb Brake pads front and back Cheers |
Apart from colour changes I don't think there were any other model year changes for 2015.
Yamaha don't make running gear changes in a hurry (the cush drive rubbers on the new one are the same as my 1983 34L !!) so I think you could by the stuff from Wemoto and be confident that they will all fit. Chris |
Sweet. Thats what I thought swell...
Just wanted someone else to agree with me :) |
I can't get my head around how the new Tenere hasn't got a folding tip brake pedal. How retro is that! And as for rubber foot pegs........
|
Just take the rubber off to make them metal and a brake snake for the brake is good to help although I do agree a folding one would be nice.

Any folding brake lever will do and ten minutes with a welder and grinder and you have what I have (courtesy of an XR400!)
I tell everyone that it was a special addition for only a couple of '09 models!:innocent: |
