dumbest thing i ever did
 
tried to bump start my xt rolling down my hill, applied kickstart to engage compression release.BANG!!! anyone know where i can buy a right side engine cover 89 xt600 us version. might need new kick start pawl also.thx ron:helpsmilie:

There is a new tenere on the market in 08.
Break up the bike, sell the parts and put the cash to another one! :rolleyes2:

I beat you to it on a XT500 'bout 20 years back. Took the splines off and left a huge gash in the clutch housing with me nose diving the front mud guard..... All this in front of a girl I was trying to impress too :lol: As a quick fix I used Liquid Metal epoxy. Brilliant stuff for patching, in the short to medium term, holes in the covers in non-stress bearing areas.
