Engine case removed
 

XT600 1VJ 1985.
Just taken the nearside engine cover off to remove stator, (not charging, checks showed dodgy generator, 2 of the 'wound' segments burnt black as your 'at ).:thumbdown:

Anyroadup, when I took the nearside cover off it drained all the engine oil from the tank :confused1: ....... is this normal???????

New generator £97 (total)
Awaiting a quote from west county windings.. (thanks Tenere Tom .. got the info from a previous post ... have you got one of these in your shed? have you sold the XT??????

Where is the best place to get gaskets to put the beast back together :helpsmilie:

Ebay is da bomb for regular spare parts, like gasket sets and so on :)
