Exhaust downpies & Can for 1985 Tenere?
Can anyone recomment aftermarket downpipes (preferably Stainless steel) and end can for an XT600Z Tenere 1985 (55W..)
I am in the UK. Thanks |
Predator Exhausts I think will have one that will suit your needs. http://www.predatormotorsport.co.uk/hermes/shop/53,1,20 (model of original)
http://www.predatormotorsport.co.uk/hermes/shop/49,1,20 (YAMAHA XT600 BSI E11 MARKED ROAD SYSTEM) Other exhaust manufacturers: http://www.motorcycle.co.uk/lists/Exhausts.html I hope these help. |
Thanks - That's really useful.
I am going to see if I can find one second hand but if I don't £250 inc VAT for the downpipes & end can in stainless steel is pretty good. Thanks again |
If performance and long life is what you're after, IME the Arrow can is by far the best quality.
AVOID AVOID AVOID the Laser Pro-Duro, especially if you have a rear disk (1985? don't think so, but anyway). Avoid it anyway for the shoddy *internal* build quality. Motad used to make headers - didn't you get some Barry? |
I had a look at the arrow website and it looks like they don't do an end can for the XT600 Tenere (1985). The one they sell (72008PD) is from '86 onwards and the attachments look diferent. I have emailed them to ask so will let you know. I can't get on the Motad site at the moment but it looks like the downpipes they do are just for the XT600 & XT600 E. (Looking at www.BBBikeshop.co.uk)Anyone know if they are the same? Thanks

Hi
I fitted motad stainless steel down pipes to my 3AJ and to girlfriends XT600E with no problem about 3 years ago, don't think they were listed for my tenere but fitted no problem. I think I got them from M & P or MPS. They must have done about 50000 miles and they look almost rusty, burnt on mud discoloured them possibly, but I wouldn't expect them to stay shiney like chrome Mark |
