Fuel pipe

Hi folks!
Any one have the inside and outside diameter of the fuel tubing from the tap to the carb for an 03 xt

Thanks in advance

Bill

I think the inside is 8mm. Outside can depend on the grade and shielding of tubing you buy. If you need clamps, its best buying a selection. Wait until you get your pipe then measure it with verniers..

Sorry if I'm teaching ma granny how to suck eggs .. ;)

Hi Ted
I was going to go for 6mm but the o/d of 13mm seemed too big and put me off. But like you said it depends on what its made of. Cheers!

I've just fitted an Acerbis tank on my 2002 XT. 6mm internal diameter seemed to be right for me.

Yeah.. Acerbis seem to work with both 6mm and 8mm. So I've found. I prefer to use an 8mm with a proper hose clamp. It comes off easier without wrecking the pipe and your knuckles

I've found most carbs of that era tend to accept 8mm well with a decent clamp too. I've done tens of thousands of miles with that set up on loads of bikes. NEVER a single leak.

But I haven't got the bike in front of me... Do what fits best of course.
