Gold Fren brake pads
I have just replaced the brake pads with Gold Fren ceramic carbon. Anyone else have experience of these? The adverts say they are the bees' knees, but a quick Google finds a lot of sportsbike owners who have reported serious problems with them. Other people's feedback would be interesting.
I've also fitted a pair of Avon Distanzias. I've only done about 100 miles in the wet, so they aren't scrubbed in yet, but initial impressions are quite good. They seem to be less good at straight lines than the knackered Trail Wings I took off - they seem to wander a bit. Corner grip seems good so far. |
as for the new tires, go on a soft offroad (on gravel) adventure...after that they should be "fully" scrubbed in :P
That's what I do when I put some new tires on my bikes... Vando :innocent: |
Hehe - from my front door to my gate is thick gravel. I'll ride around the house a few times!
Centre of treads are nicely scrubbed. Now for the chicken strips! |
I have just this last week put some of those pads on the rear. My only concern is longevity because I wear out 3 sets on rear to 1 set on the front!! So no comment on performance yet....
Distanzia tyres are the longest lasting tyre as well. If they cost roughly the same as other makes but have a much longer lifespan why do people buy others tyres? |
As for the Distanza tires I believe is because they don't fit the riding style of the person or they aren't around at one's local stores....
