How durable are these plastic gas tanks?
 

Do they last a long time? Are they tough? ..or are they like batteries 20-50k and then you just throw them away and buy a new one?

My Acerbis tank has proved very tough.

I've had a couple of accidents where it's been scraped along the road, one for over thirty feet, and while a bit tatty looking it's still solid enough. I'd suspect a metal tank would have been seriously damaged by the same impact.

Very durable, and most will be here after you are gone.

I think they would be fine if they have some UV protection on the plastic.
