How long is it???

Hi Guys,
Could some kind person please whip a tape measure over their 1VJ and let me know the overall length please.....
I've gotta pick mine up on fri, and i need to make sure it's gonna fit on the trailer im gonna borrow....Trailer's got sides and a front and back so i can't have any overhang, so i need the whole measurment including rear mudguard......
Thanks in advance
Steve...

Is it a closed trailer or just with some low walls and backdoor?

you can always leave the door open! I've done that.. lol

Just tie down the front suspension (compressed a bit) with two strap one to one side and the other to the other in kind of a V shape and tie the front wheel to the front

You can always keep the sidestand on if you want...

On the back back wheel just tie it to the back...

Hey Vando,

It's a box trailer, thats why i can't have any overhang. Also leaving the rear load door open isn't an option as it's about 5 feet long. I've got a 440 mile round trip to do so really don't wanna make it a wasted journey, thats why the overall measurment would be really useful.....I "think" it'll fit, but only just........

Cheers Steve.

oh i get it now...

well, if i had a 1vj i'd give you the measures you need...

btw, why not just ride her back home? :mchappy:

Engine's just been totally rebuilt and i don't wanna run it at a constant rpm down the motorway for such a long way (it's over 200 miles of motorway each way) also i'd have to go back after and pick my car up!!!!!
Easiest way is drive there, trailer it back.......Plus, i don't think my fingers could take the cold for that long (yea, i'm getting older and whimpier!!!!!!)

If it doubt take along a set of 12mm spanners an a 40mm shifter and remove the triple clamps and front end. You'll shave off more than half a meter and it's a relatively quick and painless procedure.

Good idea, cheers Bruken, hadn't thought of that......or maybe just drop the front wheel out and it can stand on the fork bottoms......been put back a bit now so not picking up till sometime next week....I'll keep you all posted.

Steve.
