I just bought a TTR600RE

Hello, I've just bought a Yamaha TTR600RE, its on a 54 plate and is mint:thumbup1:. I thought I would just say hello and I'm already fiddling with it, just put a secondhand Arrow Paris-Daker can on it and removed the airbox snorkel, though shall be popping to the tuners tomorrow for a bigger main jet for the Teikei carb, then a DNA filter will be on order too....spend spend spend :funmeteryes:

I also got a 20 ltr Ascerbis petrol tank in white, which is in good condition and a Metal Mule rack.....I can't really see me using either of these two, so shall probably flog them off sooner rather than later.

Anyway, Hello:DStrat..

Take them out but keep them...you'll never know when you might want to go on a long drive....a few hundred km ;P

well done

it's a wicked bike  happy days dude :mchappy:

Ive had the same year and model for a year now and still very happy with it, I got a micron silencer on it and think it may be a bit faster, let us know if the performance is improved on yours ?

I suppose it depends on how much off road you do, but I've got used to the 23l tank on my XT and would really struggle to go back to filling up every 14 litres or so! Personally I'd keep it on the bike!

Matt :)

Getting on nicely with my TTR600Re, though have put the snorkel back in for now as I didn't like the flatspot (stutter) it created not having it in when the second carb came in, not got any jetting sorted yet, but a session booked in for the dyno next week :thumbup1: Also going to buy a larger back sprocket to increase acceleration a bit.

The Arrow Paris-Dakar can sounds soo nice :funmeteryes:.

I am however going to flog the 20ltr Ascerbis tank,no idea how much postage will be (though can't imagine much more than £20 in the UK only) I am thinking of £100 for it if anybody interested?

cheers, Strat.

Glad you’re getting on well with your bike :) however, I wouldn’t sell that tank just yet! I’d only had my TTRE on the road for about 3 weeks before I started looking for one. It’s a pain in the @$$ filling up that little tiny 10L thing ALL the time.

If you’ve got a heavy hand like I had when I first got it, your consumption will be about 100km per 7L I was hitting reserve every time I went out on my day off

Shaun

PS: the guy i got my tank from charged £15 on postage, on the ticket it had £9.80 thats royal mail

Definately selling the Acerbis 20ltr tank, just put it on ebay.

Strat.

strat 17 May 2008 15:48

I will sell to you lot on here, but would prefer to sell to UK only due to postage, unless I can do it cheap enough to send abroad? :confused1:

cheers, Strat.

I payed 60£ on postage from the UK to here (mainland Portugal) for a stock fuel tank off a 2003 XT600E.....not cheap....:censored:
