Just been out and checked and both sides are the same. Each is pretty much parallel with the sidepanel edges. So i think its by design. Now if one side had been in line with the stitching and one side with the panel....Arghhh!.....i couldnt have lived with that .:thumbup1:

Yes agree! Think the way on the dakar seat here looks better place of Yamaha.
