left side cover.. should there be oil ?
 

I know probably silly question, but I'm used to 2 strokes..

On the left hand, gear shifter side, engine cover on an xt600, is there supposed to be oil in there. I know on 2 strokes it is a dry compartment with the electricals so I'm making sure I don't have something else going on since my xt developed a leak when I put small pin hole in that side cover. Making sure oil is supposed to be there.

Don't worry you havn't poppped a seal, yes there is meant to be oil on that side.
