Motoafrika TT600 problems
Hey
Just whatched the motoafrika movie, its Great! I was espicaly pleased to see that they were riding TT600R's (as I have basicaly finnaly decided on TT600RE) However they seemed to be having quite a few problems with the bikes, (I know the RE is different to the R but compaired to a XR650R/L...) Is this a reason to go for a Honda..."Honda reliabity" (Am I about to get stonned for saying that on the Yamaha forum!!) So I appreciate that any bike can have problems but, how reliable are TT600RE or TT as a range. Thank George |
Easy tiger!
With the proper care, and mechanical sympathy, an xt or tt will give you a life time of fun and reliability. It is impportant to remember a bike is like a woman, only as reliable as they are looked after! Abuse it and it will come back to bite you!, and that goes for any bike.
XT,TT are not 2 stroke mx bikes and shouldnt be ridden as such, this will limit the dependability of your machine. Over the years XT's and TT's have proven themselves time and again in terms of being tough, reliable and hard working. Own 1 and you'll never look back!! Enjoy!  |

It will take you there.........
Hi!
I fully agree, take care of your XT/TT and it will take care of you:thumbup1: I have 100.000km on my 86 Teneré now(it had 40.000km on it when I bought it), and despite everyone telling me that it´s the weakest of the XT models I haven´t had a ny major problems with it.I gave it new Crankchaft bearings and a piston 10.000km ago,and replaced 5th gear (a little pitched but still working) at the same time. but other than that it has been just normal maintnence.Oil changes and filters. It´s not the worlds greatest bike, but it sure does the job good enough:clap: |
