my foot peg broke off :(
 

during low speed riding, my foot peg broke off (right side). a earlier owner has fixed it in a strange way and done som welding.

whats the best fix on this xt600?

its not as rusty as it may look in the pics... its only in the top paint...

My suggestion:
- Drill out one of the broken bolts.
- Bolt Foot peg in place using a new bolt through this hole.
- Drill second broken bolt out using footpeg hole as guide (this way you get spacing right).
- Fit second bolt

If you have little experience of drilling remember (a) use sharp drill and (b) drill small hole (about 3mm) first through centre of bolt before trying to drill out to full diameter which will be about 8.5 mm(measure footpeg to check).

its taken care of:) made new treads in the top hole and welded a ned bolt in the bottom one
