Mystery "Conking Out"
Hi All - good to be on here.
Ok so my 2003 TT600RE (5k kms only) runs perfectly...right up until the green dash (lights) light starts to flicker...and it starts to misfire/or stops.... CLUE - kick rear left side panel where battery etc is and it will 'reconnect' and go again......but....I have had it all out, checked all the connections, fuses, the earths I can see etc......its a mystery....that is really starting to wear a little thin now, to put it mildly! I have also noticed that the headlight main/dip seems to go out at the same time..... Any advice much appreciated Guys! Thanks Dan |
those newer TT600 are TCI, not CDI, so most chances is that the "feeding" coil is gone. happened to my DR350 and it begins with bike not revving well or hard starting, kick son the side panel notwithstanding :)
I bought a TCI replacement module from ignitech.cz that doesnt need the "feeding" coil (runs of the bike 12V) and it works great ever since. |
Sounds like the sidestand switch is faulty, perhaps together with the neutral sender.
It the bike think its down, and neutral light isnt activated, the bike will shut of, thinking the bike is in gear. The neutral sender is right around the shaft for the gear lever, if the green light flickers, buy a new one. |
