Neutral light on constantly on my 94 xt600e
 

Can anyone help me out here tell me where to start looking ,I'm asuming this is some eletrical problem.The bike shifts fine.It started while I was riding.The green light is on no matter what gear the bike's in.

The cable to the switch, switch located next to where the shift shaft enters the engine, must make somehow connection to earth.
The cable is probably blue. Inspect it for damage to the insulation; you might have to take off the L/H engine cover.

Thankx fellas,I found the switch located right next to the crankcase drain plug under the shifter.Single wire going to it.I wiggle the wire tapped on the switch and it works fine now.I guess the switch is starting to go or it's not making a proper ground connection.Or like you said a break in the wire somewhere but I can't get it to do it again it works fine now thankx again.
