New key cut for ignition?
 

Road 8000+ miles, 39 days and 28 counties to have my bike nicked 6 hours after getting back to the UK (with all my stuff still attached). Got it back undamaged, with all my stuff, but the keys are gone. I've hotwired it but wondering if anyone knows where I can get a new key cut for the lock.

Ermm, what do you require? It's a 1997 bike so has the 4pt frame and the 3tb engine. If I can't get a new key I'll buy a new barrel.

Essentially on other bikes I've restore there is a company who can cut keys if I send the lock serial number. I've done a search and can't find one for the XT so was wondering if anyone else had come across this problem.

I'd ask a Yamaha dealer, or someone like David Lambeth who specialises in these machines.
