New XT600 discussion group
Hi Folks
There seems to be a somewhat limited amount of XT600 discussion groups going so I thought I would set up a new one. I have enjoyed reading the posts here and hope that some of you will feel free to join up and add your questions, opinions and photos. yamahaxtridersforum : Yamaha XT600 Riders Forum Thanks dirtyrod |
What's wrong with this one? Why dilute it with another?
|
ANother forum
Just what I need is another forum to monitor. Sorry but not interested. I'll stick with the HUBB.
|
Go easy on him lads, surely theres nothing wrong with a new discussion group for XT purists? One point though, I notice that to join in the discussions you have to open a Yahoo account? This puts me off. I'm fed up keep having to provide my personal details online. I often use bogus details and then forget the user and pass words! I must be getting too old and forgetful...
Besides, he's a new (a colonial cousin) member of the HUBB. We should be welcoming him to our exclusive club... Welcome dirtyrod :welcome: |
Nah, rubbish, I'm with MotoMedic. To misquote The Floyd: "We don't need no extra fora" ...
or, as is so often the case, The Python provide the last word: "Splitters!" (aka the Popular Peoples' Front of Judea) :-) |
Rubbish??? No need to be so rude to this new guy... :nono:
This is only his 2nd post on here. With moronic and thoughtless comments like that one, it will probably be his last! |
"Moronic and thoughtless"? Now who's being rude! :(
Actually my "rubbish" was referencing your post, kent! :Beach: |
New Yahoo! XT forum
I wasn't being rude, or at least not trying to be. I fought for the "XT600 Forum" to stay the "XT600 Forum" (not "Yamaha Tech") because dilution lessens usefulness of the forum. My concern is that XT600 owners wouldn't be able to find their way here if the name changed. I'm glad that the "Yamaha Tech Forum" remains largely XT-centric because I don't really care to read about WR's, YZ's, DT's, or TW's here. If we could get and keep everyone on the HUBB it would be perfect. But realistically, Yahoo! Groups are probably more accessible to the average (or less than average) person, so perhaps numbers can help make it a useful forum. It's already hard to keep up with this forum, the ADVRider thread and the German XT600 forum. Just wish I didn't have to add another one to the list. Oh well, it will only be my wife and kids that suffer. Such is the life of an Internet junkie.

I just wish that German XT site was more accessible to us English speaking types, there is just so much information there.....I think, well,it LOOKS interesting.Other adv bike sites like the Africa Twin site you just click on the language flag and the whole site turns to English. It would be a lot of work of course - but those Germans are really good at working hard and doing a perfect job...aren't they?

Maybe a UK site may be helpful? Tom |
That new XT forum is a great idea but I hope you Yamahonians wont leave and not come back because a lot of the stuff is useful for everyone, look at Matt with his speedo problem, if hed posted that elsewhere I couldnt have given my tupney bits worth.

Girls and things...

Just wanted to say that its really sweet of you to do that - however - doesn't it make sense to rather try and consolidate information into one place... ? Did you feel that perhaps THIS forum doesn't do enough for XT riders? Is there anything you think it can improve on -- cos if you do -- your suggestions would be welcomed, I'm sure. Its just that...we're girls- and just keeping up with one or two forums is already doing our heads in... what with having to choose which shoes to wear every day with which outfit AS WELL! . . |
German Xt Forum In English
BY THE WAY GUYS --- HERE's YOUR GERMAN FORUM -- AUTOMATICALLY TRANSLATED INTO ENGLISH FOR YOU... THANKS TO GOOD OLD AMERICAN EFFICIENCY (not German) |
translated German XT forum

But much better than a kick in the head :biggrin3: thanks, Strat.:thumbup1: |
Me Again
Hi Folks
Thank you for the encouraging and not so encouraging comments. I do not get offended easily and did not want to by any means ruffle any feathers by distracting anyone with another forum. I do like this forum and I have mostly been reading from it and not posting. I do enjoy the tech info and the friendly banter. I have been a motorcycle enthusiast and mechanic for well over 20 years and appriciate the articles posted. As for the name dirtyrod I guess I either seem to be covered in grease or mud hence the name. Sorry for the poor spelling as my work computer will not allow me to download the spellcheck. Rod |
