noob to site but not the TT-XT600

Hi all, I am the original owner of a 1984 US TT600
I have been all over California with my 600 and have seen many places I would never have seen with out this bike.
they are very rare out here. So am glad to see interest on this site.
To this day I have yet to find a better replacement for my riding type.
I have modded it out to suit me and how I ride.

test pic- Modern Motocross suspension 275 lbs with 1/2 tank of fuel, 410 lift cam 11to1 comp and lots of gears

Looks good - I bet it could tell a few tales.

The same bike since 1984:eek3::eek3: How many miles?

I still miss my 1982 XT550. I had it for many years. It was the most reliable bike I have ever had, time will tell if my TT600RE will be as good.

How many miles

I am uncertain of the miles on this 600 it was sold as a off road only here in the USA and was converted later on for street use. never had a odometer that didn't reset.

It has led a hard life and gets lots of maintenance.
Iv broken 2nd 3rd and 4th gears more than once but only 5th for undermining
i am on my second engine now(used) The original had a problem with kicking back and finally cracked out the center cases. I ditched the automatic compression release for a manual type, it starts much better and no kick back

Right now I am replacing a broken shock spring.
Luckily I like working on mechanics or this bike would have been long gone.
