Oil leak
 

Hi all i have just puchased a xt 600 Tenere 3aj 1990, knowing that thre is a oil leak coming from around the starter motor. Apart from this everything else is sound,do you guys have any idea what this problem could be thanks.:helpsmilie:

But, no reason for panic. Be a bit more specific please ....
A good way to check is to clean everything thoroughly, then spray talcum powder around the area, drive around a bit. Then the source of the leak should clearly show up.

Thanks for info will check this out in the next couple of days,then go on from the findings.

Hi cleaned engine up fired it up and found leak caused by a split in the large oil feed,return pipe not sure it just sits behind the starter motor.Any way just need to order a new one and hopefully problem sorted.
