Older engine with 1VJ reg/rectifier
 
Is it possible to wire the older 2 wire 49L XT Engine to the 3 wire 1VJ regulator/rectifier?
If so,how does one determine which of the pins to use?

Dont see why not, one of the rectifiers circuits just wont be used. Iv got a diagram that shows the top two connector on the rec being input along with the bottom right. The bottom left is positive and the casing is negative. I can have a look at my loom to double check.
