I've fitted mine now
2 Attachment(s)
The large pegs from Hong Kong are now on the bike and the difference is amazing. Considering they're over twice the size (40sq cm compared to 19.5 sq cm), I suppose it's no surprise. Here's a couple of pics to show the difference.
The first one shows my size 11 foot on the old peg. Attachment 3258 This one is my foot on the new one. Attachment 3259 I went out on the bike yesterday and it is much more comfortable. Well worth £11.99! Geoff |

My new pags arrived today, they fit straight on and are so much better that stock ones. Thanks for whoever provided that ebay link cos I have seen some much more expensive footrests elsewhere. Also got my 54 tooth rear sprocket fitted and love it, pulls uphill fantastic in every gear. |
You're welcome, those pegs seem to have been a big hit !!

After reading this thread, I used the link and bought a set myself, fitted them last week, they slotted straight in, cost next to nothing and are brilliant!
They are so much more comfortable, so a big thank you to whoever set me up with them. |
Just got my two sets this evening (one for backup) so I will put 'em on during the week. I have been tempted to buy them off eBay for a while, but was hesitant without hearing someones experiences.
AUD$42 for two sets delivered. Nice. |
Dang, I am having trouble lining up the bolt back through the spring and out the other side. Anyone have any tips or techniques for getting all the holes to line up? (that's what she said ;)

Little flat head screwdriver!
The ones used for watch repairs are great for it! Vando :cool4: |
Got them on with a mate's help this morning. Man, what a difference they make. We went for a 160km bush ride today and I felt a *lot* more stable.
For anyone interested, here is the difference in surface area: http://www.doublesupercool.com/images/Yamaha_pegs.JPG Here's a link to the ride map if anyone is interested: Uriarra Rd to Uriarra Forest ACT - Google Maps |
Pity whoever posted this tip isn't on commission - I bought a set for my 1VJ Tenere, then as soon as 2 mates saw them, they ordered them too! Highly recommended, especially for the price. I just had to drill one small hole in one peg for the spring to engage with, otherwise perfect.
My only concern is that they look to be cast rather than forged like the old ones. Anyone bashed one hard on a rock/road yet? How did it stand up to the abuse? |
Just glad that a few others now have comfy pegs to stand on too !!
