ProCircuit Exhaust
Here in the US there is a complete stainless exhaust available for the 90'-95' Xt600. My question is could i put this on my 86' Xt600? Are headers the same? If not, has anyone tried to make fit? What are the differences?

will it fit?
it should......
maybe a mounting hole could need elongating??? or you may need to fabricate a bracket/ hanger at the worst. but the headers should fit, i have headers on my 89 from a 93. |
I've seen these exhausts on ebay too. My concern is that they might not be as "complete" as they need to be. The '90-'95 XT600E muffler is also a structural frame member. The SuperTrapp replacement muffler comes with a bolt-on spar to join the (now disconnected) frame ends. Don't know about the '86. One thing I've seen from the XT225 forum is to remove the spark arrestor from the OEM muffler and bore a 1-1/2" hole in the bottom baffle, then re-install the spark arrestor. Universal praise from the XT225 crowd. Might be a better first try than cutting off the OEM muffler and strapping on an expensive can (at least it would be free, if still heavy).

That header pipe won't work. My 91 has 2 exhaust outlets at the head. These are merged into 1 put to fit into the muffler.:scooter:
