question about piston
 

g'day everyone,
im doing a rebuild on my 88 xt600 u/ uc ( does anyone know the differance? i think the later has disk rear?? which would be mine) need to know if the piston is stock, it says L on the top left and 2 on the other side maybe two thou?,never seen this before and everyone ive asked hasent either any help will be apprieciated ..:helpsmilie:

Pistons come in the following sizes:
Standard - 95 mm
1st Oversize, aftermarket only: 95,25
2nd OS, official Yamaha: 95,50
3rd OS, aftermarket only: 95,75
4th OS, official: 96,00 mm

Measure the diameter with a caliper 6 mm from the lower edge of the skirt. That will give you the current size. (from lower edge of the skirt = opposite from the valves, just to make sure)

thanks alot auke it turned out to be standard, but found out bottem end needs replacing.....:(
